Why this blog?

I've been thinking about starting a blog for a while now, but, knowing myself, I doubted I would have anything of interest to write on any sort of consistent basis. We'll see, won't we?

What should you expect to see on this blog? Well, a little bit of everything! Sports, politics, today's weather.. Whatever is on my mind at the time. But why should you read it? What will make people come back and keep reading. To understand that, I guess you need to know a little bit about me (but not too much!)...

I'm a late 20-something. For baseball, I like the Yankees, for football, the Giants. Basketball, its the Bulls, but I don't really follow too closely (especially since the decided to start sucking!). Why two NY teams, and one from Chicago? Well, when I got into basketball, I was about 15 or so, and the Bulls were awesome. You have to become a fan of a team for a reason, right? The true test is when they cease to be good! So you might be able to find some rumor mill stuff here for the Yankees during the offseason, maybe a little Giants Monday-morning QB action... Whatever!

You'll probably find some political stuff on here, because its something important to me. At face value, and based on some of my positions, people initially judge me as a Straight-line Republican, but that is not so, though most of my personal views tend to be more closely represented to the right side of the aisle (the notion that the political spectrum is linear is false in the first place, but perhaps we'll address this at a later date). I'm sure if you come back to the blog enough, you'll see what I'm talking about...

I live in a northern state, and the weather is always a topic. If you don't like the weather outside, just wait 5 mins!

I'm happily married, no kids yet (two cats, though), although my wife and I are trying, and we know it'll happen when its supposed to (its easy to say, but not so easy to accept, sometimes). We own our own home, which is always a work in progress, and always expensive. We'd like to move to a bigger house in 4-5 years or so (whenever the housing market turns around!).

What else? I'm a huge "24" fan. In my mind, the top three shows you can catch on TV right now are 24, Seinfeld (reruns), and How I Met Your Mother (gotta love NPH!). My wife is into "The Bauer Hour" too (I LOVE using air-quotes), but not so much the other two. She likes Jon and Kate Plus 8... not me.

That's all I could think of for now. As we go, if I think of something else, I'll let you know! Now that you know a bit about the author, maybe I'll actually write an entry!
